Our Corporate Social Responsibility

As well as making a huge difference to our clients and the businesses we work with, it’s incredibly important to J&PR to make a difference to our surroundings.

In today’s socially conscious world, we want to be sure we can give back to the community around us.

It may be that customers prioritise employing the services of a company which flagships Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and that is a huge benefit to us as we thrive on it.
But we will be volunteering, sponsoring and fundraising regardless, as it is in the ethos of our company.

As well as prioritising CSR where we can, we also like to raise money for charity. Not only is it always a worthwhile cause, it helps team building and the mental health of our staff too.

Based in the beautiful county of Shropshire, there are a lot of people here doing brilliant things which we want to be a part of and contribute to.

The term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has different meanings to different people, but is essentially how a company is giving back to the community it works in.

Across Shropshire, team J&PR has been getting stuck in and making a difference.

We have been improving the lives of children in the area, reaching out to communities less represented and assisting in projects for the environment and the community.

Here are some examples of our recent CSR:

J&PR voluntarily manages the social media for the annual Telford Tree of Light appeal, as one of the sponsors

J&PR voluntarily provides PR services and run PR campaigns for voluntary group The Friends of Telford Town Park

We also sponsor Lawley and Lightmoor Galaxy FC Under 11s winter training jackets

Our company sponsors the Shrewsbury Lions Rugby Club

For the past eight years we have sponsored Wrekin Riders BMX Club with PR and social media management, along with grant funding applications resulting in winning the support of Wellington Rotary resulting in a donation of a toilet block and a clubhouse for the club.

J&PR also sponsors Krazy Races - where competitors launch themselves through a 300m downhill track at Shrewsbury Quarry in a hand crafted kart - offering both press releases and a media contact on the day

In addition, director Kirsty acts as a “business buddy” at Hadley Learning Community guiding students as they look to start careers

We sponsor the Bulldog BMX Racing team - all riders have qualified for the World BMX Championships 2022 in France - good luck riders!

We are passionate about the importance of work experience and offer work experience opportunities as often as we can - more important than ever post-Covid as so many students have missed out on these placements.

We give back to the education community by being guest speakers at careers fairs at schools and colleges across the region.

And our staff take it upon themselves to make a difference too. The working environment at J&PR aids and assists any community work that employees wish to carry out - we provide flexible working hours for staff to attend any community meetings or courses needed and encourage them to do so.

Volunteer leader at Lawley Youth Club

Trustee board member of the West Midlands Agricultural Society - which includes getting the team in to help with the clean up after a show/flooding.

Completing a sign language course in order to communicate with the deaf community

Run the creche at Dawley Baptist Church, Telford

Collect recycling from various locations (including our office in Wellington) to take to local Wellington Terracycle representative

Complete any admin for the U7s Whitchurch Rugby Team

Youth football coach with Bayston Hill Juniors Under-11s

Beaver Scout Leader for the 1st Bayston Hill Beaver Scouts group

And also another staff member is an assistant leader with Bayston Hill Beaver Scouts

Run the social media for A Christmas Gift - an Oswestry initiative that donates gifts to local children

Create content for and manage the Friends of Oakmeadow Facebook page on behalf of Oakmeadow Primary School PTA

An ambassador of techtimeout - actively promoting and encouraging the need for workers to take time out away from their screens to take care of their wellbeing.

Up until Covid hit, voluntary work with the Friends of Tabuk School in Saudi, along with organising events on the compound and running the youth club.

Charity Fundraising

J&PR is committed to supporting charitable causes both as a company and individually.

All employees receive a paid day off each year to volunteer for a charity.

The dedication to this has been incredible and we are very proud of the achievements of our staff - as they have chosen to do a variety of challenges or voluntary roles.

Our Digital Account Manager Sophie swam 20 miles in May as part of The Movement Centre’s Move More in May campaign. She raised £500 for our charity client in the process.” and “Bucket collections for local charities, giving up our time to raise money” under the charity fundraising

J&PR;'s account managers work with our in-house marketing team to ensure the relationship works effectively.

Since the first lockdown in March 2020 the digital presence and reputation of a global brand like Jesmonite has never been so important; J&PR; ensured our digital offering and communication changed according to the fast-changing situation.

The work of J&PR; resulted in an increase of more than 6,000 unique monthly visitors to our website; this increase was achieved through organic activity with no use of advertising.

This is testimony to J&PR; knowing their client and its target audience and working with the in-house team.
