Jingle bells, jingle bells! There’s no denying it - Christmas is coming and Team J&PR loves the community feel of love, sharing and laughter,

Here’s a snapshot of just some of the exciting things happening on our office doorstep here in Wellington!

The successful Christmas Light Switch On, which packed out the town, was the sign of the beginning of Christmas! There was so much happening, there was the chance to meet Olaf, face painting, glitter tattoos, a Christmas parade, street entertainment and more! Hundreds of people turned up and watched the event in the square.

The late night market is now on every Saturday 5pm to 10pm until Christmas.

If you’ve got youngsters ready with their lists in hand then they can meet Santa at Sunnycroft, between December 3rd and December 23rd. Don’t leave it too late to book though!

Wellington Orbit community cinema has announced that they’re now showing live screenings! Whilst being a fantastic local venue to support, the Wellington Orbit also offers a fabulous cafe too! They are also showing festive films every Saturday up until Christmas.

Struggling to get around? Wellington has launched a free of charge e-cargo bike delivery service in the town.

You can now support your Wellington businesses and have your shopping delivered every Friday from 10.30am to 3pm and Saturdays from 9.30am to 2pm. The volunteers are doing a great job for the environment, the convenience of shoppers and our amazing businesses!

Volunteer cyclist deliverers are also needed, you can contact the volunteer mobile on 07398 136120.

We all love a sing-song at this time of year! On Sunday December 11th, The Mayor of Wellington Cllr Dorothy Roberts invites the local community to join her for carolling at the All Saints Church. What a fantastic way to get the community involved and feeling festive!

The Walnut is doing a festive bottomless brunch so why not get your friends together before the crazy Christmas period really kicks in and have a day of catching up?

Love Wellington has launched its own Christmas campaign this year, putting up posters and banners encouraging people to shop locally. Make sure you shop local as often as you can but especially on December 3rd to mark Small Business Saturday.

The Love Wellington team is also looking to get local businesses feeling festive this year and has asked that they submit photos to be featured on their social media channels.

These photos could be of Christmas window decor, or ideally them stood in front of a window holding a Christmas product! What a fantastic way to get local businesses feeling the Christmas spirit!
