You know how Team J&PR loves a trip to Theatre Severn!

This time, we’re transported to India for a production of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Starring theatre greats such as Linda Lang, Paul Nicholas, Tessa Peake-Jones, and Graham Seed, the show will be at Theatre Severn from March 14th to 18th 2023.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a beloved tale, and those who already know it are bound to agree on how fantastic it is. If you don’t know the story, you’re in for a hilarious surprise!

The theatre production is based on the bestselling novel of the same name, which was also transformed for the big screen in 2011 with A-list cast members such as Dame Judy Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, and Bill Nighy. It quickly became a hit, topping the box offices. We doubt the performance on-stage will be any different!

What to expect?

A group of eclectic British retirees make their way to India with the promise of a luxury residence. When they get to their new home, they soon discover it’s far from the grandeur spot they had been promised.

Despite their initial disappointment, the group learns to embrace everything modern-day India has to offer. Expect to be captivated in a way you wouldn’t expect…

Whether you know the story or not, you’ll have a fantastic time!

While we won’t share any spoilers, we will say it’s well worth going to see! You can book your seats here.

And that’s not all….

The Christians, recently named Boisdale Band of the Year 2022, are also coming to Shrewsbury! Performing all the hits including Words, Ideal World, Forgotten Town, Born Again, Whats in a Word, Hooverville, Father and many more.

And, hot off his American tour, comedian Gary Meikle will be back at Theatre Severn. The intimacy of The Walker Theatre feels like he is performing for you and your friends in your front room.

This isn't for the easily offended! Maybe check out his social channels first and if you laugh rather than frown then book the last few tickets.
