We’re off to see the wizard…the wonderful wizard of Oz!
And Sooty and friends are coming too!
Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury has a real treat for children this Easter with The Wizard of Oz, starring Sooty, Sweep and Soo as well as Richard Cadell from CITV’s The Sooty Show.
In Shrewsbury for one day only, April 7, I couldn’t help but jump at the chance to take my four-year-old to the show.
I have yet to introduce him to Sooty and his friends but I remember loving the show as a child so I am sure he will too.
And we will definitely be reading The Wizard of Oz before we visit the theatre. It’s a long time since I read about Dorothy, Toto and the Land of Oz and it will be fantastic to travel back down the yellow brick road with Lewis.
We’re looking forward to lots of magic on stage and I can’t wait to see Lewis’ face as we watch the story unfold together.
There’s even a chance to meet the characters after the show, which I’m sure he will love.
The only worrying caveat is a warning not to forget your waterproofs! I’m sensing the audience may get a bit wet from a naughty little puppet!
For more information, or to book, see http://www.theatresevern.co.uk/shows/childrens/the-wizard-of-oz/ or call the box office on 01748 281281. It certainly looks like it will be a magical experience from beginning to end.
