It’s always good to share knowledge and get some advice from your fellow businesspeople.
So when we decided at Telford Business Club to mark our 25th anniversary we thought it would be great to get out and about for a taste of what our members did on their own turf.
Bosses don’t always get the chance to see what each other does with the everyday pressures of running their business and we thought our regular meetings would be a great opportunity to do this.
And we have enjoyed the ‘tour’ of the Telford area so much and it has been so successful with our members that we have decided to extend it into 2014.
For businesses hosting our meetings it gives them the opportunity to showcase what they do.
It’s always good for bosses to learn from each other and for us it is about supporting each other and sharing business, especially in these difficult economic times.
As secretary of Telford Business Club I’m hoping that members new and old will continue to embrace our ‘tour’ and want to hear more about the great companies that operate in the area.
And I would love even more people to take advantage of the tour by coming along to the meetings.
To reflect the idea of an international tour we like to give our members a flavour of cuisines from around the world so food is laid on at each event.
They have proved very popular and provide a good opportunity for networking, which can have massive benefits for businesses looking to develop relationships with others.
We also make sure each tour meeting has a guest speaker, which always attracts more visitors.
We’ve got some venues already lined up for forthcoming meetings but we’re looking for members to come up with some more locations the tour can visit.
If members want to give talks then they just need to contact me to book their speaking slot for 2014.
I hope as many companies as possible see the benefits of getting involved in the business club and will join us on tour.
