Another car dealership or similar could be bolstering their presence on the outskirts of the county town, as a new 5.2 acre prime roadside site has gone on the market in Battlefield.
Just weeks after it was announced Evans Halshaw is coming to the area, the new site is being sold through Halls Commercial based in Shrewsbury.
The site fronts directly onto the roundabout where Battlefield Road, the A49 and the
A53 meet.
James Evans, of Halls, said there had been a lot of interest in the site and speculation was mounting locally about who would eventually move in and develop the land.
“Business in Shrewsbury is booming right now and there is no shortage of companies who want to be part of it,” he said.
“This area of the town at Battlefield is a particular favourite, it is in a prominent place next to the busy roundabout where four major routes meet and many firms want to be involved in the highly successful retail trade there.
“As an increasing number of traders are being drawn to Shrewsbury, Battlefield is becoming home for many big names who can rent, buy or build to service the needs of the high level of local and visiting shoppers regularly attracted to the area.
“It’s an ideal location where expansion is ongoing and the number of visitors and shoppers to Battlefield on a weekly basis is simply staggering.
“Obtaining this site will be a massive coup for the company that finally gets it. This is a very busy area of Shrewsbury in a prime location, the volume of traffic travelling through this area is immense and they are all potential customers.”
Mr Evans said he believed the site would best suit typical roadside uses such as the car trade and associated businesses.
