A new Shropshire wedding venue has been announced a winner in the prestigious Wedding Industry Awards at a glittering ceremony in Birmingham.
Shropshire Farm Weddings scooped the title of ‘Best Newcomer’ in the regional awards and will now go on to the national award ceremony in London in January 2017.
The awards recognise and reward excellence in the wedding industry and are presented in 25 categories across seven geographical regions of England.
Shropshire Farm Weddings, run by the team at The Wroxeter Hotel, near Shrewsbury, host weddings at Morrell’s Wood Farm – where couples can say I do in a cow shed and ride off into the sunset on a vintage tractor.
And the team from The Wroxeter chose the vintage mode of transport to make a grand entrance at the Fazeley Studios on Monday (14th).
Ed and Hannah Hall led the team to the stage to collect the award and it was hard to miss the ladies – who all swapped high heels for wellies for the evening.
Mrs Hall said: “We were extremely proud to be announced as the Best Newcomers and are extremely excited about the national awards in London.
“The Field and Farm weddings have been so well received since their launch and our wedding couples have been blown away by how beautiful Morrell’s Wood Farm can be on their special day.
“It is a very unique venue at the foot of the Wrekin and we are very much looking forward to welcoming many more brides and grooms to the Shropshire countryside.”
The Newcomer Award is awarded to a business which was established or started supplying weddings after October 24, 2015.
Shropshire Farm Weddings was also shortlisted in the Best Events Team category.
“The competition in the wedding awards world is very tough and to be selected in two regional categories, and to win one, is just reward for all the hard work that our experienced staff have put in,” added Mrs Hall.
“We will be displaying the award with pride.”
