Shropshire youngsters will be donning a robe and picking up their lightsabers as they prepare for a day at a Jedi Training Academy being held in the county.
Children will be greeted by Storm Troopers before being taken to their Jedi Training, and with the highly anticipated new Star Wars film due out next month organisers are expecting to see some great skills in action!
The Academy, which will be held at The Wroxeter Hotel on January 3, will teach the jedi’s in training in the art of the lightsabers before enemies battle it out in a live lightsaber show.
As well as training with Obi ‘Two’ Kenobi, youngsters can take the Jedi Oath with Yoda, complete the Lightsaber dash, practice battles with their padawan friends and aim to avoid the Emperor.
Darryl Ann brooks, of The Wroxeter Hotel, said: “We held a Jedi Training Day earlier this year and it was fantastic, the children loved it.
“We thought it would be a great Christmas present for people to get for youngsters so we decided to invite the Jedi masters back in January.”
The day includes afternoon tea with sandwiches and homemade cakes and tickets are £12.95 for adults and £10.95 for children, under ones are free.
All Jedis will graduate with a certificate and can have their photograph taken with Darth Vader if they wish.
“The children can even battle against Darth Vader if they feel brave enough and it is great to see them giving it a go,” added Mrs Brooks.
Lightsabers are available to buy on the day but children are welcome to bring their own costumes and lightsabers.
The new Star Wars film, Episode VII – The Force Awakens, is due to be released in the UK on December 17 and has already made millions in advance ticket sales.
