A Shropshire hotel is to host its first mother and baby show with dozens of stalls available to help and provide for families from bump to five-years-old.

The Wroxeter Hotel, near Shrewsbury, is holding the event on April 10 from 12 to 3pm to showcase the huge number of businesses in Shropshire which provide just what parents and parents-to-be need for their growing families.

Hannah Hall, who owns the hotel with her husband Ed, said the event has been extremely well received.

She said: “We are looking forward to welcoming businesses from all over to come and chat to parents to be and new parents about the support, services and products that are available to them.

“As well as the stalls showcasing products we are also looking to provide advice for parents and Wendy Cutchie, the lead midwife of MLU and Community Midwifery Services, will be with us on the day.

“We’ll also have plenty to keep toddlers entertained and the option of afternoon tea so visitors can sit down and relax a little with some homemade cakes.”

The stalls range from photographers and wooden toys to swimming lessons for babies, a childminder and baby shower and christening packages and ideas.

Amanda Round, of The Wroxeter team, said: “It’s great to be able to showcase the products and services available to parents in Shropshire and surrounding counties.

“We hope this event will grow and will be a great offering to parents who do not want to travel to bigger cities and venues to find out more about what’s on offer during pregnancy and the first few years of their child’s life.”

The Wroxeter Hotel is based in the village of Wroxeter, not far from junction 7 of the M54 and the A5 Shrewsbury ring road.
