A Shropshire interior designer who reinvents designer fabrics by turning them into elegant home accessories will open her showroom to the public in May for an exclusive event.

Sarah Cavendish, who has 30 years experience styling homes for clients in London and Shropshire, will throw open the doors to The Loft at More Hall on May 6 and 7, between 11 am and 4pm.

The open event will showcase some of Sarah’s accessories, such as throws, and cushions but will also allow homeowners to browse a large selection of designer fabrics, lighting, one-off pieces of furniture, gifts and other interior accessories.

Sarah, who sources all of her stock from design houses up and down the country, launched her business venture last year.

It is the third open event of its kind to be held at The Loft, which is located at Brockton, near Much Wenlock.

Sarah said: “I’m really looking forward to this event. The showroom has developed considerably since the last open day and I now have a much wider selection of fabrics and also stock lots of great fringes and trimmings, which people have been asking for since we started.

“The open event will be ideal for homeowners who are looking for inspiration on how to restyle their home or local interior designers looking to source fabrics or accessories for their latest projects.

“For example we have at least five rolls of beige linen wallpaper from a client who decided not to use the colour.

“These would be perfect for an interior designer who wanted to use this in a scheme.”

Having originally trained at the Inchbald School of Design and worked for Charles Hammond in London and Christopher Vane Percy Designs, Sarah is passionate about fabrics and her aim is to bring London ideas to Shropshire through The Loft.

“One of the things we love to do at The Loft is reinvent fabrics by turning them into beautiful home accessories such as cushions, bedspreads, runners and throws,” said Sarah.

“We also love helping to bring other people’s ideas for their home to life so can’t wait to get chatting to our guests at the open event.”

Visitors to The Loft showroom will discover around 150 different designer and bespoke fabrics, many of which have been sourced directly from design houses around the country.

There is something for all tastes from damasks to velvets to silk, quality linens and cottons.

Sarah said: “Some of the fabrics are really stunning and perfect if people are looking to brighten up their home with new curtains, blinds or other interior projects such as recovering an old chair or footstool.”

Visits to The Loft are by appointment only or during open events. For more information visit the website http://www.more-hall.com/ or contact Sarah on 07968057873.
