A Shropshire hotel has scooped a top industry accolade after receiving rave reviews from hundreds of visitors.

The Valley Hotel in Ironbridge has been awarded Top Rated status in the 2017 LateRooms.com Simply the Guest Awards.

The venue, a listed Georgian building on the banks of the River severn, was recognised after receiving a minimum review score of 80 per cent on the LateRooms.com site during the year of 2016.

Valley Hotel marketing manager Lisa Snape said: “To receive this award is brilliant for the hotel’s status as one of the best in the area.

“All of our staff pride themselves on delivering the best customer service for our guests so to be rated this highly is a fantastic achievement.

“So much time and effort goes into making sure that all of our guests enjoy their stay from checking in to the comfort of their room and quality of the dining experience.”

The awards are the only UK hotel honours based solely on genuine guest reviews – calculated through the review ratings given by guests who have actually stayed at a property and published a review on the LateRooms.com website.

LateRooms.com spokesperson, Andrea Tarpey said: “ Our Simply The Guest Awards have become a highlight of the travel and hotel calendar since they were launched five years ago, and really reflect the true standard of a hotel.”
