The doors have opened on Shrewsbury’s “secret garden” as Shropshire’s largest display of garden furniture is unveiled.

The secret garden has been created at Alan Ward as part of a store expansion for the spring and summer season.

Through the ‘garden gates’ at the store on Ennerdale Road customers will find more than 40 sets of inspirational garden furniture.

Andrea Cutler, store manager, said with the spring weather trying to make a breakthrough with the clocks changing, it was the perfect time for people to start thinking about their garden plans.

“The secret garden will allow the customers to enjoy the fantastic designer garden furniture in the warmth of our Shrewsbury store,” she said.

“Patios, garden rooms and orangeries are an expansion of our customer’s homes and they want them to reflect the quality and design of what they enjoy inside their properties.

“From bistro sets to fabric corner groups, hanging pod chairs to sun loungers plus gas patio heaters and table top heaters – we have it all.”

The doors of the secret garden officially opened on Thursday March 23 in time for Mothering Sunday with special offers running throughout the weekend.

Mrs Cutler added: “We know our customers treasure their gardens just as much as their homes so opening the Secret Garden was a natural move for us during our continued expansion.

“The garden is full of indoor and outdoor furniture including what could be the envy of all your friends – a bar set complete with ice bucket and parasol.

“As we all know ‘staying in’ is the new ‘going out’ but with fantastic garden furniture like this – outside will certainly be the place to be!”

The secret garden will be open from 9.30am to 6pm six days a week and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

Alan Ward also has branches in Chester, Winsford and Newcastle-under-Lyme where a small selection of outdoor furniture will be on display.
