A Shropshire insurance broker has been granted prestigious coverholder status with the world’s leading insurance market – Lloyd’s of London.
Fiveways Insurance Group, based in High Street, Newport, was recently granted the status along with delegated underwriting authority for Equity Red Star (ERS) private car cover.
It’s thought to be the only firm in the county acting on behalf of ERS which is the largest motor syndicate at Lloyd’s.
It means the family-owned broker now has the ability to underwrite all ERS private car insurance products in-house – giving customers access to very competitive premiums for a diverse range of car insurance products.
Nigel West, managing director of Fiveways, said: “This is fantastic news for us and our clients.
“We have worked with ERS successfully for the last 25 years and we are very proud to have been recognised as deserving of this authority and binding agreement.
“It means we can access a range of excellent private car insurance products for our clients, keep premiums low and provide cover to a wider range of customers.
“Having the ability to underwrite our own policies means we can tailor insurance specific to our client’s needs, even if they may have previously found it difficult to obtain cover.
“It really is an honour to have been granted this facility. It not only highlights the trust ERS places in our company but also demonstrates the strength of our working relationship with the syndicate, and our expertise in delivering excellent private car insurances to our clients.”
In addition to being a leading provider of car insurance, Fiveways, which was established more than 45 years ago, also works with several top UK insurance companies to provide a range of personal and commercial insurance cover.
As well as its office in Newport, it also has a second office in Stafford.
