Senior citizens in north Shropshire are being offered the chance to have a free Christmas lunch made and served by teenagers.

The annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party hosted by Adams College in Wem will take place on December 11.

It will be held in the Stanier Hall on High Street from 12.20pm to 2.30pm with lunch served by students studying for their A levels.

Director of Adams College Lorna Withey said the event is always a huge success.

She said: “The students thoroughly enjoy putting on this event, it has always had a good buzz about it.

“We have had over 100 guests for many years. All enjoy the lunch, cooked by Food and Nutrition students, and the entertainment which includes games of bingo, music and carol-singing.

“It is a good way to get into the Christmas spirit, I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been before to come along to meet new people and enjoy good food.”

To book your place at the free event call Samantha Evans at Adams College on 01939 237000.
