A recruitment drive is under way at a new Telford restaurant which was taken over in a £400,000 deal.

Four Corners World Buffet on Southwater has undergone a huge re-design in preparation for its grand opening night on Friday September 2.

Sham Uddin and his wife Laura who have bought the restaurant and invested tens of thousands of pounds in the revamp are now recruiting four full time members of staff and 10 part time jobs.

Mr Uddin, who is a full time paramedic, and his wife who is a full-time payroll manager, have also secured all of the jobs for employees of the former restaurant Mimosa.

The restaurant will be offering Chinese, Indian, Italian and Mexican cuisine and has no connection to Mimosa.

Mr Uddin’s brother Amin, who boasts years of experience running leading high street restaurants, will be managing the restaurant on behalf of the couple.

Sham said: “The re-design has gone very well and we are really excited about the grand opening on Friday September 2.

“We are now taking bookings for our opening night, which will be an all you can eat buffet for just £7.95, and we are looking forward to welcoming lots of new customers to our restaurant.

“Our recruitment drive has now started as we want to recruit the best of the best. “Customer service is at the heart of everything we do so we are looking to recruit the perfect candidates for the roles at Four Corners World Buffet.

“We have four full time positions and at least 10 part time positions available ahead of the restaurant opening but as the business builds and diners find out what we are all about we expect both of those figures to increase,” he said.

Sham said said it was important to him to offer employment opportunities locally and offer career opportunities to people who are interested in working in the food and hospitality industry.

“We want passion, enthusiasm and people who want to get up and go to work and take pride in every aspect of their job and the service they provide. Every member of staff needs to be representative of what Four Corners is all about.

“A top quality dining experience from start to finish is what we will be offering and we can’t wait to open the doors,” he added.

The restaurant will include a number of “live stations” where chefs will be cooking the food in front of the diners and also an a’la carte table service menu will also be offered. A new dessert station with fresh waffles and crepes will also be introduced as part of the re-design.

It is hoped separate dining rooms will be created for private parties and special occasions.

Shaun Davies, leader of the ruling Labour group at Telford & Wrekin Council, which owns Southwater has welcomed the independent restaurant to Southwater.

Mr Uddin and his wife Laura, who both live in Telford, had originally wanted to set up their own restaurant on Southwater when the development first opened but had previously missed out on the unit.

Given the proposed hotel developments adjacent to the restaurant, which will add greater footfall to an already busy development, they said they were even more encouraged to invest in Southwater.
