It’s always difficult for new businesses to find their feet but Telford and Wrekin Council has come up with a great way to help fledgling companies in the run-up to Christmas with a pop-up shop.

The shop will be based in a vacant store in the High Street in Wellington as part of the council’s Invest in Telford drive to help small businesses.

The launch will take place on November 18 to mark National Entrepreneur Week.

Local start-ups will be able to give their products or services a high street presence with as little fuss or cost as possible.

It’s a great idea to help those just starting out to make those all important sales before Christmas.

The shop will stay open until Christmas and sounds like the perfect way for customers to find new and unique gifts for the festive season. J&PR staff will certainly be having a look and hoping to pick up some new products and ideas.

The shop will form part of the council’s support for national Small Business on December 7 when cabinet members and senior council officers will be helping out at a range of shops and market stalls across the borough for the day.

Any business wanting to join in should contacting the Business Support Team on 01952 567589.

The pop-up shop is also a great way to encourage people to shop locally and support people who are starting great businesses on their doorstep.

It can only be a good thing for the town as the more businesses there are, the more jobs there and that in turn encourages more business growth.

New businesses get a coveted but affordable high street presence and customers get to shop locally and support local people this Christmas.
