An experienced business coach has been invited to join the Telford Business Board.

Gary Halpin, who has helped hundreds of new businesses through his company, Good2Great, has joined the group as the Sector Champion for Entrepreneurship and Startups.

Gary said he was delighted to be a part of the business board.

“It’s a really strong group of private and public sector organisations, as well as further and higher education centres, all working together to help support local businesses and the local economy,” he said.

“I have a particular passion for working with new businesses – the team at Good2Great helped deliver the Start Up Shape Up project for The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership, which was very successful.

“I am looking forward to using the experience that we have amassed over working in this sector over the last nine years at Good2Great to help lots more new businesses and entrepreneurs thrive in Telford.”

He added: “Telford is an exciting place to do business, with huge opportunities for start-ups in particular, and the business board is a big driver of that.

“The Telford area is truly vibrant at the moment and it’s a great place for entrepreneurs to be so I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

Gary is also the Telford Business Board’s representative on the Marches Growth Hub steering committee.

The Marches Growth Hub Telford & Wrekin is based at the Telford Innovation Campus at Priorslee, and Gary said it was a key development in cementing the area’s reputation for business support.

“The Growth Hub is a fantastic facility and I would urge any business owner who hasn’t yet visited to come along and check it out,” he said.

“There is lots of help on offer and it’s a great place for signposting businesses about the various forms of support there are out there.”
