A restaurant in Telford has drafted in a new management team and overhauled its menu as it looks to make a “fresh start” in 2016.
Mimosa, in Southwater at Telford Shopping Centre, was the first restaurant to open its doors when the complex was built in the summer of 2014.
Following a successful first year, bosses said they were keen to freshen up the restaurant by adding new dishes to the menu as they look ahead to the spring and summer.
The new manager is Bala Chandra, who has 10 years’ experience in the hospitality trade and spent the past five years as restaurant manager at a major hotel in London.
“It’s a great time to be here,” he said. “Southwater is a fantastic place to be, and by introducing new dishes and refreshing the menu we hope to maintain Mimosa’s reputation as an exciting place to eat.
“The new menu is entirely Halal-friendly and has something for everyone, from traditional Indian and Chinese food to our new seafood bar and a chocolate fountain for the kids.
“Our new head chef is Raj Kumar, who is a master at creating world food dishes and was recently head chef at a four-star hotel in Dubai.
“Excellent customer service is our number one priority and we are building a fantastic new staff team to deliver just that.”
Bal Gill, who runs Mimosa with his wife Kuldeep, said the heart of the restaurant would remain as a pan-Asian buffet, but new additions like a fusion carvery would add an extra offering.
He said: “The restaurant trade is always fiercely competitive, and here in Southwater there is a clutch of food outlets which is going to grow when the next phase of building work is completed.
“It’s a good thing as far as we are concerned because it brings more customers into Southwater, but the important thing is to continually develop and offer new experiences for your customers.
“That’s exactly what we are doing and it feels like a fresh start, which is exciting for everyone.”
