A great story for people who work at Battlefield in Shrewsbury – and a great picture to go with this press release too!

A new fast food restaurant has opened at a popular Shrewsbury retail base – the latest in a raft of businesses flocking to the area.

Subway has opened a new base at Rent a Space on Battlefield Road – just a few months after Climbing the Walls, the bespoke rock climbing centre, opened.

The building, which offers retails units, industrial units, office space and domestic storage space, is fast becoming a high quality business village, according to bosses.

Ryan Talbot, centre manager, said: “We’re delighted to have Subway on board now too, their branding is really effective and it is a great addition to the area.

“We have a lot of businesses renting space here now, from corporates to sole traders and start up businesses, it’s good to have a combination of the two and it would be good to keep that balance if we can.
“Climbing the Walls, a bespoke climbing facility, is proving very popular and is unlike anything else here.

“We’ve hosted network events and recently a MacMillan Coffee morning here too, there is a lot more than people realise.

“It’s becoming a business village in itself with spaces to work, eat, shop and have fun within one building.”

The building has been open for 12 months and Mr Talbot said they always have a lot of movement going on so they use agents to advertise what is on offer.

One of the agents they use is Halls Commercial and Rebecca Welch from the firm said it is clear why the location is so popular.

“This area has a variety of business units available, suitable for retail, workshop and leisure based uses and it’s very near other high footfall companies, set within a leisure hub,” she said.

“This mixture makes it a great location for shoppers and business footfall too.

“We were delighted to secure Subway for them and the tenant, Harry Sing, has told us how pleased he is with the site.

“We look forward to attracting a lot of other tenants for Rent a Space in the future.”

Rent a Space offers 250 square foot to 2,500 square foot spaces on flexible terms at affordable prices – with offices from £65 per week and retail units from £95 per week.

It is within close proximity of KFC, Domino’s, Frankie and Bennys, Chiquitto’s and The Featherbed, a Marstons family pub.
