A new business hub for sole traders and small business owners is to be launched at a Shropshire hotel.

The hub will be located in the newly refurbished 1630s cafe bar at the Mercure Shrewsbury Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa on Ellesmere Road.

It is expected to attract a number of small business owners and sole traders on the look-out for remote working and meeting places.

The 1630s business hub will operate every Thursday from the beginning of April and with free Wifi access hotel staff hope it will become a popular meeting venue for the local business community.

Hotel general manager Jennifer Sibbald-Wall said: “The bar area has recently undergone a major refurbishment.

“It has been extended significantly and now provides a fantastic space for hotel guests and visitors.

“There is a main bar area which is very modern and trendy, a lovely comfortable lounge area and a third area kitted out with sockets and USB ports which is to become the new business hub.

“We know that many small business owners and sole traders who don’t have large business premises are always on the look-out for suitable places to hold client meetings or just work remotely.

“The business hub is perfect for these people. It offers a quiet, relaxing environment and we look forward to welcoming the business community to the hotel every Thursday.”

The hotel also has a number of rooms available which are suitable for business conferences and networking events.

Owned by businessman Peter Cashman the hotel has recently undergone a number of other major improvements including complete refurbishment of the Inspirations Spa and Leisure Club, new entrance and reception area and new bridal suites.
