Prestfelde School has undertaken a full brand review, including a refreshed logo, website, prospectus and marketing materials which more truly reflects the school’s “modern yet traditional” outlook – and parents have been quick to back the new look.
A launch event was held in May and school head, Fiona Orchard, said she was delighted with the response.
“We take a great deal of pride in how warm and welcoming Prestfelde is, and we felt the brand review and a new logo was an important part of the ongoing development of the school,” she said.
Prestfelde’s marketing manager, Rob Corcoran, added: “We are very proud of our history but we are also acutely aware that the world is changing, so we have worked hard to instil a modern yet traditional outlook which we hope is reflected in our new branding.
“It ended up being quite a challenging, thought provoking process to decide on the new look and we have worked extensively with three local firms to completely reshape our marketing communications.”
Shrewsbury-based design agency FRA who specialise in brand design and wayfinding created the new brand for Prestfelde. It still centres on the school’s traditional coat of arms but with a new colour palette, a cleaner style for digital media and more contemporary typography.
The new brand positioning draws on the experience parents and students can enjoy at Prestfelde and focuses on telling the school’s story and values.
The logo captures this balanced mix of heritage with Prestfelde’s forward-looking attitude. The brand will be used as the basis for new signs at the school entrance on London Road in Shrewsbury and elsewhere throughout the school as well as livery for new minibuses.
Ascendancy Internet Marketing in Shifnal were the architects of the website build which allows greater flexibility for the school and provides a central portal that helps parents support their child’s learning. FRA and Ascendency worked closely with the school to ensure the website reflects the new brand positioning.
Creative Digital completed the team and have printed all of the marketing collateral including a new prospectus and signage in their new offices in Battlefield.
