You’ve seen her on our social media, and may have even met her at an event or two, but we think it’s time we gave her an official introduction… meet our digital apprentice, Freya Rickman!
Here’s what she has to say about her first three months as part of Team J&PR…
When I booked onto Shropshire Chamber’s LinkedIn for Business course with Sophie and Rhea, I didn’t think a month later I’d be sharing an office with the two of them!
Let’s just say I was wowed by everything they had to say and I think I made a pretty good first impression too, because a few days later I had a message from Kirsty on LinkedIn.
Now three months in, I have learned so much and I can’t believe everything I’ve done has happened in such a short space of time…
I went to Shropshire Chamber’s Business Awards which was incredible! Even though the team was nominated before I started, I still enjoyed the celebrations!
I also went to the HR Dept’s fourth birthday in Oswestry, which I don’t think could ever be topped as my best networking event!
I have even been to Northwich and back for the Krazy Races too!
And that’s not even half of it! I’ve been incredibly lucky to get to do all of this alongside Sophie and Freya M - and I’m not just saying that because they’ll read this!
What’s been your favourite part of the job so far?
My favourite thing so far has definitely been going out and about to events, networking and meeting new people. I’m also really enjoying doing some photography and making videos with the work camera. I love a bit of new tech to play with!
How are you finding the apprenticeship course?
I’m doing the Digital Marketing level 3 apprenticeship with SBC Training. I’m in a very small class with just three other students and if the traffic lights are green I can get there in less than three minutes from my house! There’s also a Gregg’s on the way, so sometimes I have to make a quick stop!
What are you looking forward to developing and learning about the most during the rest of your apprenticeship?
I’m actually really enjoying being back in education, which is something I never thought I’d say!
Content marketing is an art and everything about it is personal, I’m looking forward to learning more about analytics, and the more technical side of things! To be able to track my own work in such depth is going to be a really interesting process.
I have loved every moment of my first three months at J&PR and I can’t imagine the kind of things I’ll be writing about for my one year anniversary blog!
