J&PR's March Highlights
31 Mar 2021
by Team J&PR

We love to keep things positive here at J&PR so we’re introducing a monthly highlights blog to our website to share what each staff member’s highlight of the month has been and spread some positivity. It’s needed now more than ever (although it’s always been pretty important!).

Our staff members are more than incredible creatives and writers, so they’ll be sharing the great things that have happened in their personal lives too! Here’s what we got up to in March…

Kirsty presented her first webinar for the Principally Women programme of Scottish Enterprise after collaborating with Kerry Boffey at ALIN. That’s right, we go further than Shropshire and the virtual world has made it that little bit easier and quicker!

She also watched her two lovely boys return to school where they were reunited with their much-missed friends.

When we asked Rhea what her highlights were, these were her words…

“Personal highlight - kids going back to school.

“Professional highlight - kids going back to school.”

Need we say more?

Dani has been an avid knitter for years and has made her first soft toys this month!

As well as knitting, Dani has been learning a lot from her client G and has been highlighting neurodiversity through them.

Freya went on her first bike ride of the year (she’s a bit behind Kirsty but far ahead of others with that one!) around Llanymynech, Maesbury and Maesbrook.

In terms of her professional highlight, Freya had her first J&PR blog published online! You can have a read of it here.

Simon’s pretty sure every parent will say this, but the children going back to school has been his highlight of the month too (or maybe even the year!)

It gave Si more headspace to properly concentrate on things but the children also desperately needed to be back at school for their own mental wellbeing. Smiles all round!

Si also discovered a lovely feel-good story for one of our longest-standing clients, who mentioned during a chat that a branded blanket that they’d sent to staff was mostly being used as a blanket for their pets. Sensing a cute photo-op, Simon contacted the media which resulted in some great coverage. You can read the story right here.

Sophie had her first ever guest speaking gig this month; she talked to the lovely attendees of All About Newport about using Instagram for business.

Outside of work, Sophie’s been exploring different local National Trust locations and enjoying the fresh air.

For Tony, his highlight this month was that he and his wife both received their first Covid vaccination. How fantastic!

At work, Tony’s been learning all about driving and firearms rules and regulations to write blogs for clients. It’s been more than 40 years since Tony left the police force and had to be aware of such things, so it’s been really interesting for him to catch up.

This month, Becci has loved seeing her children’s smiling faces when they come out of school, chatting about what they have done with their friends and how they played football at break, lunch, PE and after-school club!

Becci has also loved helping her client Abbey Kitchens in Shrewsbury receive some highly-deserved praise via its Facebook post and video for donating a kitchen to the Rural Charity at the West Mid Showground.

It’s been so much fun spending some time towards the end of this month reflecting and looking back on the positive things we’ve experienced throughout March. We can’t wait to see what April brings! We’re hoping it will be plenty of sunshine and time with loved ones who we haven’t seen in so long.
