Looking for half-term fun? Kirsty recommends WaterWorld!

After arriving back from an adrenaline-fuelled week at Duinrell water and theme park in Holland, the Smallman family, including their two boys aged 8 and 10, were looking for their next thrill. As Kirsty explains…

Thankfully WaterWorld in Stoke-on-Trent had just opened its doors to the new slides in the new area of Tornado Alley – the place which boasts the fastest, highest and fastest slides in the UK.

Welcome to Storm Chaser, Thunderbolt, Hurricane or Cyclone.

My 10 year old, who will go on anything and do anything thought his dreams had all come true – even Thunderbolt didn’t phase him. But watching him drop may have phased mum a little bit more…

It’s about 25 years since I last visited Waterworld and I’m sure back then I would have been on every slide – I did meet the challenge of them all, bar one. Thunderbolt is not for me!

The rest of the pool area still boasts a further seven further thrill rides so there really is a ride for everyone – from toddlers to thrill-seeking pensioners.

The cafe area is perfect for a chill-out with a book whilst the kids (depending on age of course) have the time of their lives.

There’s Halloween craziness with a red pool, actors and scary surprises this week and special offers for those wanting to arrive after 2pm – so get yourselves down there. The slides are so fast you won’t have time to be scared – why not post your videos on our social media so we can see the proof you did them?

Half term will be popular so don’t forget to book ahead.

For our family it wasn’t Eddie Hall tackling the highest, biggest, fastest rides in the UK but our crazy Eddie Smallman! He can’t wait to return.
