Team J&PR's June highlights!

The first half of 2023 has come to an end (where did that time go?) and Team J&PR could not have packed more into June! Here’s what we got up to…

Si’s highlight at work was seeing four websites go live for a client - all four were written from scratch within just a few weeks, which was a very quick turnaround and the client was very happy with the results.

Si’s personal highlight was going on the BBC Radio Shropshire ‘winner stays on’ quiz, representing his pub darts team. It was great fun and a good reminder of radio interview technique which he can pass on to our clients. You can listen in here.

Sophie’s professional highlight took place at the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards, while she was undeniably nervous beforehand, she and Freya ended up in a fantastic flow of Freya being up-front taking photos of the winners and sending them over to Sophie to share on socials. It reminded Sophie of how well they work together and how Freya really thrives in those sorts of environments.

For Kirsty, her personal highlight was at the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards, seeing her husband join his Jesmonite colleagues on stage after being named as the Global Company of the Year.

Her professional highlight was seeing her team work so hard in the run up and on the day/night at a number of events including Shropshire County Show and Shropshire Business Awards. Live social media management can often be stressful but they were cool as cucumbers! (Their work meant Kirst got a night off working and enjoyed being Mrs Smallman for the night… and partied hard - very hard!)

Continuing with the theme of events management, Rhea is pleased with the team’s post county show mop up! It is so important after an event to get feedback and meet with all of the people involved to ensure we can solve any pain points and improve for the following year. We created the feedback survey and collated the results and coordinated the wash-up meeting to ensure nothing was missed and now it is all systems go for 2024.

For their professional highlights, neither Dani or Freya could choose a single event, so they went for the J&PR team time! The team enjoyed working together to crack the codes in order to escape the island at Alderford Lake - it's highly recommended. They also enjoyed the display of talent from businesses across Shropshire at the awards ceremony at the Telford International Centre.

Birthdays and Celebrations!

Freya has spent more time with friends in June, from meals out, long drives, and gatecrashing her brother’s 18th birthday party to plenty of BBQs.

Dani’s personal highlight was celebrating birthdays! Both of Dani’s children were born in June it was certainly a month of celebrating. They had a joint party at Wrekin Forest School with a cake Dani made herself - and was very proud of! The family went camping in Barmouth too and managed to escape the rain

Rhea ventured to Birmingham for her cousin’s hen do. She enjoyed getting to see all of her extended family again and is very much looking forward to the August wedding!

Sophie is cheating with two personal highlights this month. Her first was going to the Hay Festival with her dad. They camped for two nights and saw Rannulph Fiennes give a fantastic talk about his absolutely amazing life. They had a great time! Her second highlight was going to watch Soccer Aid in Manchester with her boyfriend and his dad. She has always loved Soccer Aid and wanted to watch it in-person, and they had even more of a treat as their seats were moved to behind the goal, with a private bar!
