Finally, we are getting a little bit of sun - does that mean summer has finally arrived? Team J&PR hopes so as we head into the month of August… let’s take a look back at the staff highlights for July…
Coverage for clients
For Dani her professional highlight was getting fantastic coverage for Lingen Davies with two double-page spreads in the Shropshire Magazine, on the BBC and more for their 45th anniversary, as well as exciting stories such as fundraiser Mark Perkins doing a round-the-world trip.
Simon’s professional highlight was also securing coverage with a week's worth of radio coverage for our client, Meeting Point House, after arranging for Radio Shropshire to come in and interview staff and customers in the community cafe. The reporter was so impressed with the range of interesting stories we had prepared that he recorded a series of clips which were broadcast as a series over the course of a week!
Sophie’s professional highlight was a great meeting with Southwater Vets where they discussed social development, e-newsletters and wider forms of marketing and PR to grow their practice.
Family, music and wellbeing
Dani’s personal highlight was seeing Bruce Springsteen at Wembley with possibly the best set list of the eight times she has now seen him. What a guy, at 74 too!
Personal highlight for Simon was spending time with his dad, brother and son - bringing three generations of the family together for a walking weekend which has been going for over 20 years!
Rhea's professional and personal highlight was the Wellbeing Day with Laura Butler. The event at Papermill Park offered a much-needed break from the demands of work and home life, especially as she was recovering from another bout of COVID, and it united the team, sparking meaningful conversations about how we can enhance our efforts and continue delivering exceptional service to all of our clients. The day was also Tony’s personal highlight so it is great to hear the team enjoyed it too!
Taffy’s personal highlight was using the train to come to work for two weeks - she says it was brilliant. Taffy enjoyed the lovely scenery from Wolverhampton to Wellington which she does not appreciate when driving. The walk to the office with the church bells in the background and the sun shining made her truly appreciate life and be grateful for all of her wins, even the small ones.
Holidays
Having the longest child-free holiday in 15 years, with seven days touring France and Spain, was Kirsty’s personal highlight - on arrival in Spain Kirsty and her husband collected their two boys from their school trip in Tossa De Mar - huge thanks to the amazing teachers from Haberdashers' Abraham Darby School!
Looking to the future
Kirsty’s professional highlight was having one of the busiest months of the financial year with new enquiries and on-boarding new clients for social media management, PR consultancy and training - exciting months to come!
Taffy worked with Kirren from the BlackRook Academy on one of the West Mid Showground's video briefs and says it was amazing! Having trained with Blackrook it was lovely for her to have the opportunity to have all her training come full-circle with one of their students.
Tony’s personal highlight was having wife Angela discharged from her consultant after 16 months - such fantastic news and we are all so pleased to hear it!
Sophie’s best friend of almost 13 years got married in July - so of course this was her personal highlight - doesn’t Sophie look beautiful… and huge congratulations to the wedding couple with best wishes for the future!
