Congratulations to J&PR’s two managing directors Rhea Alton and Kirsty Smallman, who have both been nominated for top business awards.
The Biz Mums Conference and Awards 2013 will take place on September 14 at the Lord Hill Hotel in Shewsbury from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rhea has been nominated in the Exceptional Service category, sponsored by Work Life Better.
The award is for the mum, who makes an exceptional effort in her life or business to maintain a high level of service to her customers and is also supportive to other businesses.
Kirsty has been nominated for the Charity Mum category, sponsored by Dyke Yaxley Accountants. The award is for a mum who has made an exceptional impact toward supporting a cause or charity, through fundraising, volunteering or other means of support.
Both busy mums not only run J&PR but find time for many other activities as well as each looking after two small boys.
Kirsty is mum to Eddie, four, who is about to start school, and Archie, two, while Rhea is currently on maternity leave, looking after Ellis, three months, and George, two.
Rhea said: “I’m thrilled to be nominated along with all the other exceptional mums.
“I am always so proud of what we achieve at J&PR for our clients and I love to support local Shropshire businesses and make sure everyone out there hears about them and all their successes.”
Kirsty, who is an active fundraiser and volunteer for Medic Malawi, said she was honoured to be nominated for an award.
She said: “Since visiting the Mtunthama region of Malawi in 2007 when I saw first hand the difference the funds make I have tried to support the Shrewsbury based charity in any way I can.
“Every single penny gets spent on the community and really does save lives.
“Helping to boost their profile through PR as well as fundraising and sponsoring orphans to go to school seemed a natural thing to do after my visit.”
J&PR has also sponsored the new business award, for any business run by a mum launched after September 1, 2011, in North Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire or the West Midlands.
Rhea and Kirsty will be giving a presentation on PR at the BizMums Conference, which sees a number of inspirational speakers share their knowledge and expertise on a variety of subjects, including social media, sales, motivation and marketing.
BizMums offers support and inspiration to mums in business and is run by mum-of-two Michelle Childs.
