Wow - what a month April has been for Team J&PR! There’s been new clients, plenty of meetings, a graduation, holidays, a new team member, and so much more!
But what were our favourite parts? Read on to find out…
Rhea got to see her brother and his wife, who live in Spain, in person for the first time since before the pandemic! We’re sure there were some damp cheeks after that reunion…
Not only did she go to Spain this month, Rhea spent some time in Canada too - albeit virtually! She hosted a Two Hour Takeover on blogs with a kitchen and bathroom cabinet supplier based in Canada. She said it was a great session, although the client’s cat brought a rabbit to their door half-way through. As we always say, there’s never a dull day at J&PR.
Kirsty’s also been globetrotting this month! Her highlight was taking the family motorhome, which was bought for European travel three years ago, on its first European trip! It gave the Smallmans so much flexibility and they were able to see so many places in Belgium and Holland.
Did we mention her sons competed in the European BMX Cup, too? Oh… and did you know she met Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in The Hague? We think Kirsty wins the Easter getaway competition!
Kirsty’s professional highlight was finding out we were shortlisted in two categories in the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards. We’re so proud to be shortlisted in both the Small Business and Covid Response categories - roll on June 10th!
Yet another member of Team J&PR to be out and about in April, Freya headed to Cardiff for the moment she worked three years for… her university graduation!
She booked a day off work, travelled down to Cardiff Bay and had her big day. She said she was nervous to see her coursemates after a sudden departure from Cardiff two years ago, but it was a great day! She enjoyed tapas and cocktails in the evening to make sure she was celebrating in style.
Well done Freya, we’re so proud of you!
It was back in the office after her graduation, but in a different room! Freya’s professional highlight this month was moving from her and Sophie’s office to the new, bigger, digital room. Why? To welcome our newest addition - another Freya!
And without further ado, meet Freya Rickman…
Freya’s loved getting to know the team this month, and she’s been learning about what we do while being out and about! She enjoyed a day out at The Movement Centre to get plenty of great footage at its open day, and shadowed our photographer Ed at WRR Pugh and Son’s photoshoot!
The fun doesn’t stop, either, as she went to her first Bike4Life event with her dad. The event was a sell-out with over 3,500 bikes attending, raising money for Midlands Air Ambulance.
We’re so happy to have Freya on the team!
From our newest member of J&PR to someone who’s been with us from the start, Dani says her highlight this month was Easter! She can’t pick a moment out of the Easter holidays as she had such a great time over the fortnight, including a trip to see Crystal Palace at Wembley, catching up with friends over cocktails at London Bridge, her birthday, a day out at Warwick Castle, picnics in parks, swimming lessons for her children and lots of fun with family and friends…
We think she needs another two weeks off to recover!
Seeing J&PR nominated for two Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Awards this month was Dani’s professional highlight! She said it’s “great to see the hard work of all the team recognised and a great coup for directors Kirsty and Rhea, especially in the same month they celebrated 10 years of the business! Just love this company and the way it works.”
She wasn’t paid extra to say that, promise…
Our shortlisting for the Chamber Awards was also Tony’s professional highlight this month!
Outside of work, Tony was proud to see his wife get her pension on her 66th birthday as well as her bus pass. We hope she had a great day!
Simon’s professional highlight was interviewing Vera, the oldest tenant of Shropshire Rural Housing Association, as part of the group's 40th anniversary campaign. Si always enjoys going back to his journalistic roots with face-to-face interviews and in-depth article writing. And as an added bonus, Vera was a lovely lady and a pleasure to interview!
On a personal level, Si is a big Nottingham Forest fan and the team has been on an incredible run this year - with the season culminating in an exciting push for promotion to the Premier League. At the time of writing, Forest will either be promoted automatically by finishing second, or taking its chances in the play-offs. Either way, it has been an amazing season which has encouraged Simon’s two boys to join him watching the matches and following the team, which has been fantastic.
It seems everyone’s been out of Shropshire at some point this month, as Sophie’s highlight was a weekend with Worcester with her mum. It wasn’t just any old weekend trip, though, as they were making gin at the Piston Gin School! It’s already been suggested as our next team outing location…
And finally, another tally for J&PR’s shortlisting in the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards as it was also Sophie’s professional highlight! She said J&PR is completely deserving of both awards, and she’s so proud to be part of such an amazing team.
And breathe… we told you it had been a busy one! What a great month April was for Team J&PR, both at and away from the office. We can’t wait to see what May has in store for us!
