J&PR October Highlights
04 Nov 2024

Autumn arrived with a flurry of golden leaves (and quite a bit of rain) and Christmas graphics and video ideas are already popping up in the team meetings…

We cannot believe that October is done! Let’s take a look at what team J&PR up to in month 10 of 2024…..

Newsletters and Blogs!

Dani’s professional highlight was launching a brand new newsletter for new client Woodways - she said it was great to combine the writing side of things with the marketing side of things, be a little creative with the design and know it's a useful tool for woodland owners too. She said she is really looking forward to carrying on this quarterly newsletter!

Taffy’s personal highlight was uploading her first blog to the J&PR website! She says: “Ok, fine, I didn't write the blog, but it felt so good to master something new, albeit small. I am a firm believer in celebrating every single win, no matter how small!”

Rhea’s professional highlight is also newsletter-themed….for client EPX, we run a full e-marketing campaign, and this month’s job of creating and issuing e-shots and newsletters for different target markets was great - but of course it is about the analytics for Rhea - having a range of analytics to dig deep and compare have been her highlight!

Four-legged friends…

Taffy’s professional highlight is also mixed with personal gratification. She met Brightstar's dog Pebbles at their Open Day on October 23rd! To say she fell in love is an understatement!

Sophie’s professional highlight was attending the first birthday event for client Southwater Vets! The practice was really busy, with people enjoying tours, and she said it was so lovely to hear such positive things. The Vets have gone from strength to strength in its first year, and Sophie loves working with the wonderful team!

Happy Clients

Simon’s professional highlight was an adhoc client who came on for a three-month social media campaign and was so pleased with the work completed that they decided to become a retained client. Happy clients mean happy account managers!

Tony’s work highlight was writing about client Serchem, which was chosen as one of only 30 UK companies to take part in a ground-breaking collaboration aimed at increasing trade and economic cooperation with Florida!

Networking

Returning to the networking circuit after what feels like forever is Kirsty’s professional highlight for October! She said she enjoyed a lovely welcome from people including Allun Williams from Cyclone Sign and Print who was one of the first people she met through networking 13 years ago. He gave her the biggest hug ever! Despite trying to have breakfast with Lucy Edgar of Human Everything for months and the diaries clashing, they enjoyed a chance meeting at the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Telford breakfast meet.

Kirsty says every time she goes networking she realises how important the relationships are and how many 'business connections' become true friends. Shropshire - you are very special!

From football to knitting and family time

Sophie’s personal highlight was spending the day in Liverpool with partner, Aid, before watching them play Chelsea! Sophie doesn’t have much knowledge of league football but said it was great to see Aidan have so much fun and to see his team in person. She said they were very kindly gifted the tickets, too, which was an amazing bonus!

Si’s personal highlight was also football-themed. After a great win from Nottingham Forest against Leicester, he and the family travelled to Nottingham and visited the statue of former manager Brian Clough! Fun was had by all (Rhea nipped to Primark…)

Dani’s personal highlight for October was seeing the northern lights from her bedroom window and finishing knitting a very complicated and frustrating jumper, which has kept her busy for months and months - both on the same evening!

Kirsty joined her eldest son at Shrewsbury College open evening (on her birthday but that's how parents rock and roll isn't it?) and she loved seeing him excited and eager to go to college. They were impressed by the teachers, the campus and the choice of courses, Kirsty and husband John nearly signed up too!

And Tony said his eldest granddaughter Mia’s 15th birthday meal was his personal highlight!

A bit of cheating….

Sophie wanted to cheat this month and give a bonus professional highlight, which was doing her nominations for this year's internal J&PR awards. She said she is very guilty of getting 'swept up' in day-to-day life and not telling colleagues just how brilliant she thinks they are, so this was a really feel-good activity!

Rhea is also cheating with a double personal highlight - Rhea headed to the Notts Open (gymnastics) with son Ellis and watched his incredible routines, which led to two calls to the podium during the awards ceremony! And then, the whole family drove to New Haven and headed off to see close friends in France for a few days of wine and cheese - heaven!
