20 teams of young people aged between 13 – 17 will be competing for 26 different awards at a spectacular evening attended by many leading Shropshire business people.

Sponsored by both large and small businesses in the county, the awards celebrate the achievements of all the young people who take part in the Young enterprise company programme.

Awards are presented by business sponsors and dignitaries including Mandy Thorn, chair of the Shropshire Business board.

Young Enterprise empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills providing practical programmes that spark energy and enthusiasm, teaching employability skills that they will need as the employees and entrepreneurs of the future.

This year, Telford & Wrekin Council have sponsored The Shropshire Company of the Year Award which will be presented to the winning team by Councillor Rae Evans, Mayor of Telford.

The winners will go through to the West Midlands Regional Final which is being held at Wolverhampton University on 15th June.
