Children and staff at a Telford nursery have been helping to celebrate the power of storytelling by sharing their favourite books at a nearby farm.
Youngsters attending ABC@Hoo at Preston On The Weald Moors pulled on their wellies and sunhats for the special storytelling session at nearby Hoo Farm.
The event was held in celebration of National Share-A-Story-Month which runs throughout May and is aimed at bringing children and stories together.
The theme for 2016 is ‘A Place for Stories’ encouraging people to share and tell stories in unusual but safe places.
Penny Hustwick, owner of ABC Day Nursery which also has sites in Hadley, Lightmoor and Hollinswood, said: “One of the things we love doing with the children at all our nurseries is sharing and telling stories.
“The children all have their favourites but we try our best to introduce new fun and interesting stories to keep them engaged. There are so many wonderful children’s books out there.
“We have our dedicated book corners at each of our nursery sites where children can sit with cushions and relax but sometimes it’s nice to do something different.
“The children were delighted when staff told them they would be heading to the farm for a special storytelling session to celebrate Share-A-Story Month.
“They managed to find a nice spot near the sheep pen and a bench to sit on and the sun even shone for the occasion so it was just perfect.”
