Fans of the ever-popular Shrewsbury Flower Show can now get their hands on tickets to this year’s extravaganza.
Organisers of the historic event, which will take over The Quarry on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th August, are looking forward to another bumper year. Advance ticket sales for one day entry to the Show are available at a discounted rate until April 22nd when the price will rise.
The event, which has been running for more than 130 years, will feature a host of stunning floral displays, as well as breathtaking, adrenaline fuelled entertainment from The Imps motorcycle display team. Musical treats will be delivered by Scouting For Girls who will perform on Saturday evening, a host of military bands, and local choirs Shrewsbury Male Voice Choir (Friday) and Of One Accord (Saturday).
Celebrity chef John Torode is returning to the Show to share his skills and knowledge with visitors in the culinary marquees, and there will be a wide selection of food and trade stands to enjoy, as well as a range of children’s fun and games.
Andrew Cross, chair of the Shropshire Horticultural Society which organises and hosts the event, said this year’s Show promises to be as impressive as ever.
“As always everyone is working tremendously hard behind the scenes to ensure we deliver another remarkable show. We are really pleased with the level of advance ticket sales already and I would encourage everyone to purchase them as soon as possible,” he said.
“People travel from far and wide to visit the prestigious Shrewsbury Flower Show, it really is a wonderful day out for everyone, young and old. We are delighted that the Imps motorcycle stunt team can fit us into their hectic schedule, and having John Torode at the Show for the second time will be marvellous.
“As well as the amazing floral arrangements and displays we have a wide variety of trade stands and we still have space available for anyone who is interested in running their own stand. We have lined up a fabulous selection of food options and will have some great entertainment.”
Mr Cross said many people were buying tickets in advance to send as gifts.
“With Mother’s Day coming up we’ve had enquiries from people about presents. People are choosing tickets as birthday presents too,” he said.
