I headed to Theatre Severn yesterday to see the world renowned Russian Ice Stars testing their skates for this weeks performance of Cinderella on Ice.
It was a tantalising taster of what visitors to the theatre will see this week and I immediately got my tickets for tonight’s (THURSDAY) show.
I have watched series after series of Dancing on Ice but seeing it up close and personal was better than I could ever have imagined…I cannot wait for the full show!
The Russian Ice Stars bring their acclaimed production of Cinderella on Ice to Theatre Severn as part of a national UK tour.
A real ice rink has been built on the stage of the theatre, enabling some of the world’s finest skaters to glide and swirl their way through this best loved of all fairytales – to find out how the ice engineers have managed this feat you can hear from Sam Davies here: www.shropshirelive.com/2012/02/09/cinderella-on-ice-at-shrewsburys-theatre-severn
With superb sets and colourful costumes the traditional tale unfolds in a two hour spectacle that will entrance all ages. The show is full of good music, ice dance, ballet and spectacular feats.
Cinderella On Ice opened at Theatre Severn yesterday (Wednesday 8 February), and there will be performances each day until Sunday 12 February. Tickets are priced from £20 for adults and £15 for children, and are available from the Box Office at Theatre Severn (01743 281281) or online at www.theatresevern.co.uk.
I will be back to let you know what I thought of it tomorrow!!!
