Youngsters from a Shropshire school will be creating an interactive display for visitors depicting the Guy Fawkes story at a fireworks extravaganza in the county next week.
The special feature will include mysterious attractions along walkways where people can discover hidden delights on their journey back through time.
The Greenhous West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury will host the bonfire and fireworks spectacular on Saturday, November 5.
Gates will open at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 5.30pm and the fireworks display will start about 7.30pm.
Ian Bebbington, showground manager, said there would be plenty of things going on and one of the highlights would be the Guy Fawkes attraction, which promised to be something really special.
“To help create a great bonfire atmosphere, Brynhafren County Primary School in Crew Green are creating a Children’s Guy Fawkes themed interaction attraction,” he added.
“The school plans to be at the showground for a week designing and building the attraction which will be located in marquees on the site.
“They will be creating interactive displays depicting the Guy Fawkes story – where children and adults will walk down mysterious walkways and discover hidden delights, or some maybe not so delightful, on their journey.
“Taking part in the the Guy Fawkes attraction is free but we are collecting donations for our nominated charity, which is Severn Hospice.”
Brynhafren head David Lambourn said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the school to take part in a wonderful county event and it will give our children hands on experience of creating one of the features.
“The experience will be a great contribution to their learning, which combines with helping out the Severn Hospice.
“The children will be designing mysterious attractions that I’m sure will be a delightful spectacle and all children coming to the event will be given an opportunity to take part in the Gunge Lucky Hand Dip.”
The fireworks display is being presented by the highly acclaimed Kimbolton team. As always there will be a massive fun fair, musical entertainment from a live band and plenty of food and drink.
Mr Bebbington said: “We had a brilliant event last year and we are sure this one will be even more enjoyable.
“There is so much going on and something for everyone. Everyone loves fireworks and the added attraction of the Guy Fawkes themed walkways will give the whole proceedings a great bonfire night feel.”
