A Shropshire organisation is holding a special awards ceremony as a thank you to all the businesses which have contributed to its huge success.
It is the fifth time Caradoc Supplier Conference and Awards has been held – marking the number of years since Caradoc Medical Services was launched.
Suppliers to the nationwide buying consortium have helped organisations across the country save thousands of pounds and will be gathering for the celebratory event at Shrewsbury Town Football Club’s New Meadow.
There are now over hundred suppliers to the not-for-profit organisation, many of whom will be attending the ceremony on Thursday 10th April 2014.
Business manager Peter Masters said: “This is the fifth time that we have held the awards and it is a very important event in our calendar.
“This conference is an ideal opportunity for us to thank our suppliers and recognise the valuable contribution that they make.
“Originally established to help GP practices make savings, the buying consortium is now open to a wide range of organisations including vets, dentists, schools and care homes.
“We now have over 25,000 members and the success of the buying group is down to a lot of people.”
Six awards will be handed out on the day.
They are: Support to Caradoc, Savings for Out of Hours organisations, Savings for GP Practices, Best Service and Innovation/technology, plus a special supplier award in celebration of Caradoc’s fifth anniversary.
Mr Masters added: “The buying consortium was started just five years ago but in that time has had phenomenal growth to become one of the biggest of its type in the country.
“The buying group now represents nearly 2000 GP practices with more joining every week. We have saved some organisations over £100,000 a year and on average a GP surgery can save between £5,000 and £15,000 a year depending on size”
“The growing number of members means that we are in a great position to secure substantial discounts and special terms on many high quality goods and services for our members.”
The conference and awards ceremony, which is invite only, is from 11am to 1pm.
This will be followed by a free trade event, supported by 30 suppliers with free workshops open to organisations across Shropshire and neighbouring counties. Workshop places need to be booked in advance.
