It seems like only yesterday we were sharing our March highlights with you - April really has flown by! We hope you have spent it visiting the places that have been allowed to open their doors to us, and seeing your loved ones - if you’re comfortable with venturing outside - and enjoying the lovely sunshine we’ve been gifted.
We’ve loved April at J&PR, here are the highlights from Team J&PR as they reflect back on the month…
Rhea enjoyed a photoshoot with a client and our photographer, Ed. She loves how fun it is to brainstorm what PR shots we will need and then see Ed put the ideas into action. It’s always full of laughs… and this month - sunshine!
Rhea’s personal highlight was seeing the return of children’s activities - football, gymnastics, youth groups… you name it! It’s been a long time since these places have been able to operate, and it has been great for Rhea to see her children back with their friends and doing the activities they love.
For Kirsty, her highlight this month was her son finally being discharged from the consultant after breaking his tibia last August. It has meant he’s finally been able to return to his beloved BMX track alongside his brother and friends.
J&PR recruiting a new employee under the Government Kickstart scheme has been Kirsty’s professional highlight this month. It has taken someone off Universal Credit and given them an opportunity to enjoy the world of work. We look forward to introducing the lucky person soon!
For Simon, shops reopening and seeing town centres come back to life was fantastic, especially as we work closely with Shrewsbury BID who have been integral in helping Shrewsbury reopen safely. Footfall levels were higher than the national average and we all hope things continue to move in the right direction over the coming months.
Of course, being able to enjoy a pint of hand-pulled real ale in Simon’s local beer garden on a sunny evening was a brilliant highlight for him. He said his first sip was genuinely emotional!
Dani has enjoyed Zoom meetings with people in India, Slovakia and Italy for our amazing client Jesmonite. Isn’t she busy?
She also had a great birthday this year - four friends around the firepit in the garden - bliss!
Tony has loved getting out to the pub again (outdoors, of course) to celebrate his wife’s birthday. He’s also been able to get back on the squash court, which has been great.
Discovering the little gem in Broseley High Street that is The Angel Gallery was Tony’s professional highlight this month. Mike and Ann are working hard to welcome people back in from May 1st, and Tony is hopeful that the people of Broseley turn out in numbers to support them!
Freya had her offer accepted on a first house with her boyfriend this month! It doesn’t get much better than that.
Rhea also complimented Freya’s tea-making skills this month, which has put her in a great position for our Best Tea Maker award - place your bets now! Freya has also enjoyed being able to practice her blog writing skills.
And the birthdays continued with Sophie enjoying her boyfriend’s birthday celebrations this month too. They enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine at The Quarry, as well as going to see Pulp Fiction at a drive-in cinema.
One of Sophie’s clients, Jesmonite, also hit 10,000 followers on Instagram this month, which is a huge milestone. Obviously, it was celebrated with a giveaway!
Becci got some great coverage for her client, Abbey Kitchens, online and has loved helping the team at Abbey Kitchens celebrate their 28th anniversary with social media posts.
For Becci, being able to get out and about more with her children and meeting up with friends have been huge highlights this month. She headed to Go Ape at Delamere Forest and her boys had a blast - so did Becci catching up with an old friend! It’s also been great for Becci to see her children go back to their clubs, such as tennis, football, rugby and swimming!
