A glass slipper? Surely not – isn’t it welly weather?

A glass slipper? Not really the footwear of the day in this torrential rain but it was the topic of conversation at Madeley Court Hotel today. Oh no it wasn’t?
You’ve guessed it – Telford’s panto season is on its way with the arrival of the town’s own star Lucy Pollard as Cinderella.
At just 19 years old and her first professional role, Lucy said her parents from Priorslee and family and many friends from her school days at Thomas Telford would be in the audience “possibly every night”.
Returning to Telford after performances at The Royal Albert Hall and Epsom Playhouse Theatre, Lucy said scooping the chance to try the glass slipper for size also meant she would be home for Christmas – a rare chance in such a busy industry.
Lucy will be joined on stage by Fairy Godmother Camilla Dallerup – better known as the winner of Strictly Come Dancing, and of course the Ugly (but really beautiful of course!) Sisters Jamie Steen as Wicked Wanda and Mark Two as Ravishing Rita.
The Ugly Sisters promise a show “full of glitz and glamour with loads of fun for the boys and girls, along with a few surprises thrown in!”
Just hearing about their 13 costume changes wore me out so I’ll be staying safely in my seat trying to pin my three year old and 17 month old sons to their seats – but as with any panto I’m sure the grandparents will be joining us too. There’s not many shows where all the family get to enjoy the fun. See you there!
