On Valentine’s Day, Kirsty shared her love, and knowledge, of social media and Public Relations by running her DIY Social Media and PR course at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce.

Of course, it was a full house … and in true Valentine’s style, it was loved by all!

Not only was the course fully booked, but it was all women, so it was a day of girl power.

The Shropshire Chamber of Commerce DIY Social Media and PR course, hosted y our very own Kirsty, covers everything you need to begin (or develop!) your social and PR skills.

Kirsty talked all things press release and blog plans, social strategy and content and how to adapt your social media posts for different channels (with a focus on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter).

She also covered the importance of networking – after all, showing your face at an event and grabbing a snack or two at the same time is PR!

Of course, Kirsty did her research prior to the course and had a little nosey around the attendees’ websites and socials, which made the course much more personalised to everyone’s needs and pain points.

All who attended had a fabulous time (as expected!) and a few of the attendees couldn’t get enough of J&PR, so have booked in for a 1-2-1 session with us to cover more specific areas, such as bespoke training on social platforms; Facebook Live; blogging and more!

Here is some of the lovely feedback we received:

“So many things have been made clear after this session. Rules behind Facebook advertising and posts that I didn’t know, and the blog and press release sections were very useful. Thank you!”
Georgie Dixon, Rybrook BMW

“Enthusiastic and knowledgeable speaker – kept me interested throughout. Great that Kirsty did some research on us, so she made the content relevant. Nothing negative to say, learned a lot!”
Jo Lewington, Bluestone Lettings

“A huge amount of information to digest (excellent). Learned a lot, great trainer. A lot to do when I get back to the office.”
Diane Brown, Thomas Consulting

“Really enjoyed. Good tips to take away too.”
Sarah Tennant, Star Your World

“Very useful session and great to be able to ask questions throughout so [the course] could tailor to individual needs.”
Patricia Head, Shropshire Council

If you didn’t manage to grab a space on February’s course, don’t panic! Luckily for you, Kirsty will be back to do it all over again in July … there’s no time like the present, so make sure you get booked on now! We’re looking forward to another sell out and if you use your membership credits then the course could be free!
