Shropshire free-from festival will also be free from technology

George and Ellis Alton getting some practice in ready for the free-from technology children’s area, which will have eco bricks, cardboard junk city, games, a mud kitchen and a straw swimming pool.

A Shropshire festival specialising in free-from foods and those suffering with allergies will also boast a free-from technology children’s area – complete with cardboard city!

Frestival will not only be a day to learn more about free-from lifestyles and see some top Shropshire chefs in action but it will be a day for the family to be able to be free-from technology.

The event will take place at the Greenhous West Mid Showground on May 18, 2019 with plenty of activities to amuse youngsters – and children under 16-years-old are free.

Organisers are aiming to put on an event that allows people to access information about free-from foods and products, learn about free-from lifestyles and take advice from those who already live, and cook, free-from.

Families will find plenty to entertain children with a straw swimming pool, junk modelling, mud kitchen, books, eco bricks and roving magicians and jugglers!

“Our entertainers are really interactive so children can get involved,” said organiser Ian Bebbington.

“We want to provide an area that children can enjoy but that allows them a bit of time free-from the technologies that we are all used to in our daily lives.

“Technology is part of our world now, at home and in schools and, of course, Frestival will have its technology – the screens for the cooking theatre and the sound systems for the cooking and lecture theatres.

“But our children’s area will be tech-free because we all know there is plenty of fun to be had with mud and straw and rubbish – so we intend to let them have it. We can’t wait to see the cardboard city too and know children will have great fun exploring it.”

Early-bird tickets for Frestival are now available on Eventbrite at £6.40 in advance and will be £8 on the gate. Children under 16 are free.
