Deryn Oliver, Deryn Mobile Beauty

"I am a self employed Beauty Therapist and have run my own successful mobile business for the last sixteen years. I have recently branched out into making my own natural bath and body products and am keen to promote these in the local media without huge expenditure. As I don't have much experience in doing my own PR I attended the course on P.R for Small Business run by Rhea Alton PR & Journalism on April 27th 2011.

I came away that lunchtime feeling very motivated about my new business venture and far more confident that I could create my own PR strategy in the future. As well as being very friendly and approachable, Rhea is very knowledgeable about how newspapers are run, the sort of stories they like and the best way to come to the attention of local journalists. Small details that most people wouldn't think of, such as what to put in the email subject box to a journalist, or what time to send it were also covered and she was happy to answer any questions throughout the morning.

I thoroughly enjoyed the morning and I will definitely attend other relative courses in the future."
